Prior to joining IndoUS Venture Partners in 2009, Sumit worked with HSBC India as part of their Investment Banking team and was instrumental in executing various transactions in M&A, Capital Markets and LBOs. He played a key role in several successful cross border M&A and Joint Venture transactions involving large Indian conglomerates.

Earlier, he worked with British Gas India across their subsidiaries in various roles including operations, strategy and commercial. As an Economist at their exploration and production arm, he worked with BG's consortium partners and the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons for planning incremental upstream projects in accordance with the Production Sharing Contract.

Sumit holds an MBA from IIM Calcutta with majors in Systems and Finance, and a B-Tech from IIT Kharagpur.
