NEA-IndoUS Ventures appoints Kumar Shiralagi as General Partner |
Bangalore, January 03, 2007:
NEA-IndoUS Ventures, a venture capital firm based out of India and the US, has appointed Mr. Kumar Shiralagi as General Partner for leading investments in India. NEA-IndoUS Ventures invests in businesses that leverage India's accelerated, long-term growth prospects and capital efficiencies.
As the General Partner of the company, Mr. Kumar will be responsible to seek and make strategic equity investments in early and mid-stage companies in the Information Technology and BPO / KPO companies along the Indo-US corridor.
Mr. Kumar has over 14 years of Senior Management experience in the IT, Telecom and the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industries. Prior to joining NEA - IndoUS Ventures, he was the head of Intel Capital, India, the venture capital group responsible for Indian investments. As the Country Director, he was responsible for Intel's India investment strategy and for making and managing investments in companies in the area of computing, communications and market development. Under his leadership, Intel Capital built an impressive portfolio of companies and realized a good number of notable exits which established it as a leading VC team in the Indian investment scenario.
Previously, he was the cofounder and Chief Operating Officer of Lytek Corporation in Arizona where he managed all business activities of the company. He has also worked in Motorola in various areas ranging from technology development to corporate strategy and investments from 1993-2000.

Kumar holds a PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University specializing in semiconductors and optoelectronics and also has an MBA from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management.
He has published over 60 papers in international journals and conferences, has 23 issued US Patents, is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Charter member of TiE Bangalore.
