Mark Perry, General Partner, NEA and Vani Kola, NEA Indo-US Ventures, address ISB students
Bangalore, October 10, 2006: Mark Perry, General Partner, NEA and Vani Kola, NEA Indo-US Ventures, addressed an interactive session for the ISB students on October 10, 2006.

New Enterprise Associates (NEA) is a 28-year old US venture capital fund. It has $9.5 billion under management, and recently created news as they raised a $2.5 billion venture fund, the second largest ever venture fund to be raised. NEA invests in Healthcare & Life Sciences, and in Information Technology ventures.

Mark Perry looks into the company's investment area of Information Technology. He spoke about NEA's plans to float its India fund - NEA - IndoUS Ventures - which will be led by Vani Kola and Vinod Dham. He said that the NEA - IndoUS Ventures will essentially look at early stage tech ventures in India, and said that all other opportunities which do not fall in this framework would be directly looked at by NEA for investment.

Perry said that his company currently invests 15% of its funds in China and India. "We will probably be doing 5-10% of our funds in alternative energy, which is obviously a new area," he said.
